TSMC has two versions of N5 and N5P at 5nm. The performance of N5 is 15% higher than that of 7nm, the power consumption is reduced by 30%, and the crystal density is increased by 80%. The performance of N5P is 7% stronger than N5, and the power consumption is reduced by 15% again.
It is reported that the CPU part of Kirin 1020 is based on Cortex A77 or even A78, and its performance has increased by as much as 50% year-on-year.
According to the news, the Kirin 1020 chip is expected to ship in large-scale in August this year, when Huawei may hold a new product launch in September.
