Realme’s upcoming smartphones are tipped to come with 80W and 150W fast charging support. The handsets will also feature MediaTek 8000 chipset. Realme already has a 125W UltraDART charging technology in its portfolio, announced in July 2020. The 125W UltraDART was expected to debut with Realme GT 2 Pro, but the device came with a 65W fast charger in the global market instead. A new leak from Digital Chat Station suggests that Realme is working on 80W and 150W charging smartphones powered by the MediaTek 8000 SoC. Previously, the MediaTek 8000 processor was tipped to come with Realme GT Neo 3. The tipster also claims Realme will use OPPO’s upcoming 160W charging technology on its upcoming smartphones at 150W.
If the rumour is to be believed, Realme is preparing to battle with other smartphones manufacturers’ crazy fast charging technologies such as Xiaomi 200W, OPPO 160W, and Redmagic 165W. Recently, Realme India CEO, Madhav Sheth, confirmed that most Realme smartphones launching in 2022 would be 5G compatible, and The next-gen Realme Book will feature a 12th Gen Intel Core processor. Realme 5G smartphone sales already grew 831% in Q3 2021, and the company also took over Xiaomi with a massive 49% year-on-year increase in volume in Q4 2021. With its new 80W and 150W technology, Realme could give tough competition to other smartphone companies.
